"Hot & Flashy"
Are you feeling run down, irritable, gaining weight, forgetful...? Are you (and your doctor) chalking it up to being a multitasking woman extraordinaire? Stop blaming yourself and everyone around you, it could very well be your hormones! The average age of menopause is 51, but the signs and symptoms can start several years before "The Change" and last a lifetime. Sadly, most of the medical community has not kept up on the latest research and have left us in denial, fear, and desperate for a fix that may be dangerous. Join us for a double session on why you are feeling "Hot & Flashy," share your experiences, ask questions, and receive advice based on the latest medical research. Linda Sheldone is a nurse, mother, wife, serial volunteer, and an initiate of Rho Chapter at the University of Washington in Seattle...and overachiever when it comes to menopause! After a career as a paramedic, she retired when she was five months pregnant and decided to put her nursing degree to use. Her experience as a medical educator and speaker (including past AXO programs like Talking About Alcohol and IMPACT), combined with her love for mentoring (past advisory positions for Iota Nu, Iota Tau, and Iota Xi), made starting her own business on women's topics, Sisterhood Seminars, a natural choice. Linda currently serves as the Director of Province Alumnae Chairs. She lives in Carlsbad with her husband, Mark (a Beta Theta Pi from UC, Irvine), and their daughter, Alyssa. |
