Advocacy and the Greek Community
1. Do you care about preserving the right for tomorrow’s students to join single-sex organizations like fraternities and sororities? 2. Do you believe students and organizations like fraternities and sororities have a right to freedom of association and due process on campus? 3. Do you want a tax code that treats our students fairly and allows alumni/ae to make tax-deductible charitable contributions for safer, more affordable fraternity and sorority housing? These policy issues - single sex status, freedom of association, due process, and passage of CHIA - are the main issues that fraternities and sororities will work with Congress to promote and preserve in 2019. Your knowledge of these issues and your support of the FSPAC is vitally important to our success. A few individuals can’t do it; it takes all of us who care about the future of fraternities and sororities to make Congress aware of these concerns and to act on our behalf. Take advantage of this opportunity to learn about key Alpha Chi Omega statements of position, as well as NPC and NIC legislative priorities, how we get our voice heard and how you can participate in the lobbying efforts to keep the Greek community strong.
